Owner + Creative Director
Owner, Yoko Chapman, has worked extensively as a creative director, brand consultant and strategist, stylist, writer, editor, publisher, graphic designer, web designer, trend consultant and event coordinator with the Winnipeg business community for over 19 years. After a 14-year career in market research, Yoko owned and operated Pulp & Circumstance, a sustainable stationery design studio. In 2007, she launched Greenvites™ Eco-Stationery, the first 100% post consumer waste, FSC-certified and biodegradable wedding stationery line. Later that year, she spearheaded the development of Eco Luxe Event Design Group, Winnipeg’s first collective of like-minded businesses offering eco-friendly products and services. In 2009, VERT™ Yoko Chapman was introduced, a line of co-branded stationery products with WedVert/Portovert, voted the #1 green media company by Martha Stewart Weddings and the New York Post. After a successful run with Pulp & Circumstance, moving to Ayoko Design Web Print was a natural progression. In 2011, her strong connection and genuine interest in the local business community led her to publish Ayoko Magazine, which evolved into aDesigned Magazine with the addition of commercial and residential interior design services in 2018.
Owner + Art Director
Ayame Ulrich, owner of Ayoko Design Web Print, graduated from the Graphic Design program in 2008, and the Advanced Graphic Design Program at Red River College in 2009. While still in college, Ayame accepted a full-time graphic design position at Pulp & Circumstance, working primarily on creating the VERT™ Yoko Chapman eco-friendly wedding stationery line. Ayame also worked in the print media industry for four years while freelancing for several local businesses, including Ayoko Design Web Print. She has had an integral role in the design and development of Ayoko Magazine. In 2016, Ayame and Yoko decided to become business partners at Ayoko Design Inc., after seven years of collaborating behind the scenes on numerous design, web, print and publishing projects. Ayame has worked extensively as a brand consultant, graphic designer, stylist and trend consultant, and specializes in website design and development. In 2018, she worked on the rebranding of Ayoko Magazine to aDesigned Magazine, and is now primarily responsible for the training and management of the company’s graphic design, web design and magazine publishing team.
Lyndsay Stokes graduated from the Red River Residential Design program in 2005 and has pursued many different avenues into the design world in the subsequent years, gaining invaluable knowledge in a variety of specialties.
In addition to starting her own business, Lyndsay Stokes Interiors, in 2005, she accepted design positions with the Hudson’s Bay Co., Palliser and Dufresne Furniture. Currently she also works as lead designer for Ventura Custom Homes and Developments, winning numerous gold awards from the Manitoba Home Builder’s Association for her work on their show homes. Most recently, in collaboration with a local builder, she earned a Gold Renovation Award for her unique design of an Asian inspired basement spa.
As an accomplished artist and painter, Lyndsay brings a unique skill to her work. Her hand drawn sketches reflect her desire to share her vision of a beautiful space with special attention to every detail.
Creating a contemporary and uniquely personal spaces have always been the driving factors in every one of her design projects. Regardless of the size, and whether it be a home or business, a space should be a work of art.
Lyndsay’s ability to envision the “whole” aspect of a design project often provides her clients with ideas they haven’t yet thought of and as an award winning decorator of both residential and commercial spaces, Lyndsay’s goal is to create something that will have a positive emotional and physical impact on her clients.
With an eye for quality and a superior sense of style as well as a client-centered approach to design, Lyndsay has proven herself as an innovative designer. Her belief that great design begins with a comprehensive understanding of her clients’ needs and expectations and her ability to develop strong client relationships based on trust and communication have been the key to her success in delivering designs that truly represent the personal style or brand of her clients.
